Let’s get #CIAvaccinated!

Important Update from President Ryan

Pfizer Vaccine Will Now Be Given at Hyde Park Vaccine Clinic

Dear Hyde Park Students:

In response to the changing guidance from the CDC on the use of the Johnson & Johnson Vaccine, the CIA can confirm that our April 16 vaccination clinic will now offer the Pfizer Vaccine (instead of the Johnson & Johnson Vaccine).

Because the Pfizer Vaccine requires two doses, the CIA is establishing a second-dose Vaccination Clinic for Friday, May 7. Please carefully review the following.

Students already registered for the Vaccine Clinic who are enrolled for the Summer Semester

  • You are all set to participate in Friday’s Clinic at your appointed time and do not need to take any further action. Details about your second appointment on May 7 will be provided.

Students registered for the Vaccine Clinic who are graduating or on extern for the Summer Semester

  • You may keep your appointment on Friday to receive the first dose of the Pfizer Vaccine.
    • If you are able to return to the CIA on May 7, you may participate in the second-dose clinic at that time. Details about your second appointment on May 7 will be provided.
    • If you are unable to return to the CIA on May 7, you have two options:
      1. Receive your first dose at the CIA on April 16, and register for a Pfizer second dose at a vaccination site you can access in May. Check the State and County Health Department websites in the area where you will be to get started.
      2. Cancel your appointment by emailing vaccine@drnealsmoller.com (include your name and date of birth, and that you are registered for the CIA’s April 16 Vaccination Clinic), and register for a vaccine in your area. Check the State and County Health Department websites in the area where you will be to learn more.

Students not yet registered for the Vaccine Clinic

  • There is still time to register for the Vaccination Clinic this Friday, April 16, from 8:30am until 6:00pm in the Student Recreation Center. Details about your follow-up appointment will be provided.
  • Sign up now through this easy three-step process:
    1. Register with Dr. Smoller at this HIPAA-compliant, confidential signup form. You will see available appointment slots. You will get an email confirming your appointment time-slot.
    2. Review Dr. Smoller’s website to learn about the process and what to expect (and what you need to bring) to the on-campus clinic.
    3. Complete the New York State COVID-19 Vaccine Form.

We are encouraged so many in our community are registering to be vaccinated, and relieved we have been able to pivot so quickly to use of the Pfizer vaccine. Let’s get #CIAvaccinated!
